how to program keyless remote on kia carnival?

Most of the time key programing has to be done at a dealership.
1.Open the hood and locate diagnostic connector near the battery.
2.Jump pin 5 to pin 17.
3.Turn ignition switch to on position.
4.Press lock button of first transmitter two times.
5.Press lock button of second transmitter two times.
6.Turn ignition key to the off position and remove the key.
7.Disconnect jumper from the diagnostic connector.
8.Check for lock and unlock operation of both transmitters.

The connector is shown with pins 1-2 side by side at the top left, then a big gap, then 3-4 on the far right. The second row picks up pins 5-12 from left to right. 3rd row is 13-20 from left to right.

conect wire to + in your batery than connect terminal 17 on your diagnostic connector , go in the car and put key to on position than press lock button on your remote 2 times (each time 1 sec approx) turn key off take key out and disconect wire from terminal 17 and you good to go 100% will work, but in some cases it has to be done by dealer. They have the tool to program and reprogram till the key-less entry remote/transmitter starts working.--------

  • Open the hood of the Kia vehicle.

  • Locate the diagnostic plug for the vehicle and remove the cap. The plug will be located behind the battery on the driver side of the engine compartment. The cap for the plug says "Diagnostic" on it.

  • Strip both ends of the 22 gauge wire to expose 1/2 inch of bare copper.

  • Place one end of the wire in the number 6 port of the diagnostic connector. This port is the second port in the full row of ports next to the four port row. Refer to the Resources section to see a full diagram of the diagnostic port.

  • Connect the other end of the wire to the positive terminal of the battery. This can just be stuck in a hole in the terminal; a permanent connection is not necessary.

  • Sit in the driver's seat of the vehicle and turn the car ignition to the "ON" position. Do not start the vehicle.

  • Press and hold the "LOCK" button on the first remote for 1 second and release. Repeat the same procedure for the second remote. If only programming one remote, then press and hold the lock button on the remote for 3 seconds and release. If done properly the lights on the dash will go off.

  • Turn the vehicle off, after the dash lights go out.

  • Remove the wire from the battery and diagnostic terminal. Test the remotes.

    This works most priobably, but

  • Some vehicles require a computer download to program the remotes, which must be done only at the dealership.
